Google Contacts Integrates With Google+

Gmail's contact manger started to include information from Google Profiles. You can also find your Google+ circles in the sidebar, below the list of groups.

By default, the data obtained from Google Profiles is displayed below the information you've entered, but you can combine them: go to a contact page, click the "More" dropdown and select "[Show external data] inline".

It's interesting to notice that the Google Profiles data is automatically added when you enter an email address associated with a profile. To remove this information, just delete the corresponding email address.

The latest features are also available at google.com/contacts, which has recently switched to the new Google Contacts interface, but you can find them in the old Gmail interface, as well.

Galaxy Nexus boot, recovery and system dumps now available

Android Central

Following on from yesterday's root-based escapades, MoDaCo's Paul O'Brien has uploaded the boot and recovery images from the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, along with a full (non-odexed) system dump from the device. While all three files should be of interest to Android hackers and developers, the system image in particular should be a great source for anyone looking to pillage ringtones, graphics or live wallpapers for use on other phones.

Paul points out that these are from a pre-release development build (ICL23D), so they'll likely differ from what you'll find on retail units later this month. With that in mind, hit up the source link for more info, along with download links.

The Galaxy Nexus vs the Droid RAZR vs the HTC Rezound -- Verizon's three amigos

Three Amigos

It looks to be a very nice Q4 if you're a Verizon customer and an Android fan.  Three hot new phones are coming out, and if you're due for an upgrade (or finagle things around so you can get a new phone -- I've been there!) you'll have a choice to make.  Do you choose the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and its Nexusy goodness, the Motorola Droid RAZR and its industrial design, or the HTC Rezound with Sense and Beats by Dre?

It's a tough call for many reasons.  We can't help you when it comes to your personal preference -- there's great reasons to want a Nexus, the Droid line, or HTC's latest sexy -- and on one level or another every choice is the right one.  But we can offer you up some tech specs, which we've done after the break.  Read the charts, read the news, and read the forums and you'll be better armed to make the right decision when it's time to buy.

Native Gmail iPhone App Is Coming Soon [RUMOR]

Google is working on a native Gmail application for the iPhone and may even have already submitted the app to Apple for approval, according to one report.

Currently, Gmail is supported on the iPhone as a web app. It does its job fairly well, but a native app would probably be faster and could include some extra features such as advanced search and push notifications.

However, there’s a question of whether Apple would allow a native email app on iOS, given that it would be a direct competitor to its own Mail app, which is an integral part of the platform.

MG Siegler, citing several sources familiar with the matter, doesn’t have a lot of info about the upcoming app, but he claims push notifications are sure to be a part of it. And, he says, Priority Inbox and one-click starring of messages will likely to be included.

As for when can we expect this shiny new app to reach our iPhones and iPads, “soon” is all we have.

We have reached out to Google for comment.

Yet Another Google Search Experiment

Google tests a new search interface that brings back the icons for specialized search engines, but displays them in a horizontal list, below the search box. The icons are redundant right now, but they might replace the list from the sidebar, just like in the experimental interface for tablets.

Griep ?!

Gelukkig slaap ik me weer beter.
